A woman was recently scrutinized on social media for traveling to umrah, a religious pilgrimage for Muslims while her late father owed RM130,000. Netizens feel that it is not her responsibility to actually pay back her father’s debts as she is her own person, and many are defending her for it.

X users state that those who have issues to settle with those that passed away, they could handle it with more class. Furthermore, many feel that disrespecting the dead by viralling it on social media is rather inappropriate.

Following that, an X user continued the statement of the woman not being obliged to pay off her father’s debt. The user adds that if the father left her with some inheritance, then only she should pay off his debts with it.
