1 min read

Rangsan, a 57-year-old wonton noodle vendor in Nonthaburi, Thailand, became a social media sensation for wearing gold jewelry while working, earning him the nickname “Kek Sia.” Concerned about reports of a potential investigation by the Revenue Department, he sought legal advice. Rangsan explained that he bought his gold, totaling 375 grams worth about one million baht (RM133,000), using savings from selling noodles over 32 years and money from selling land to his sister. He saves 1,000 baht daily, avoids luxury items, and is currently saving to fulfill his dream of buying 1.5 kilograms of gold.
