Malaysia is a multiracial country and at times there can be a race clashing among one and another. This real estate agent asked about the racial background of this potential tenant and they are not happy about that question.
Is race important when renting properties?
The agent asked if the potential tenant is Indian or Malay. In most cases, a property rental transaction would be a tenant would rent a space for a duration of time and would then return the property back to its original owners, preferably in good condition.
However, there are netizens defending the owner of the house as they feel that it is the right of the owner to know who will be staying at their property. Some are stating that the potential tenant is racist for backlashing the agent.
