Single individuals will receive RM600 through the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) program. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced this during the 2025 Budget presentation in Parliament, Kuala Lumpur. This has led some youngsters saying that staying single could be better.

There are several TikTok videos showing individuals in their 20s claiming it’s better to stay single to benefit from the subsidy.

However, there seems to be some confusion with netizens on TikTok thinking that they can’t be in a relationship with someone. The requirements are those who are not married, and some state that it’s for those who are above 21 years old.
