Lee Zii Jia and Leong Jun Hao faced disappointing exits from the Indonesia Open quarterfinals. Zii Jia was defeated by Kunlavut Vitidsarn, while Jun Hao lost to Li Shifeng. Meanwhile, Tan Kian Meng and Lai Pei Jing advanced to the mixed doubles semi-finals.

Earlier, the national men’s singles shuttler Hao pulled off a major upset at the Indonesia Open when he defeated reigning All England champion Jonathan Christie 21-13, 16-21, 21-12 in the Indonesian’s home turf.
The Indonesia Open is an annual badminton tournament organized by the Badminton Association of Indonesia since 1982. It became part of the BWF Super Series tournament in 2007 and got the Super Series Premier status in 2011.
