11 Charged After Armed Riot at Toa Payoh Coffee Shop

A violent clash at a Toa Payoh coffee shop on August 24 has led to 11 individuals facing charges for armed rioting. Authorities confirmed that weapons, including a meat cleaver, were used during the brawl, which left two men injured — a 21-year-old with arm lacerations and a 30-year-old with a torso wound.

Police arrested 13 people aged 21 to 34, including one woman, and seized evidence from the scene. Surveillance footage captured suspects overturning furniture and attacking others before fleeing. The accused face up to 10 years’ jail and caning, with court hearings beginning August 26. Investigations remain ongoing.
