The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will recover RM12 million linked to two cases involving oil and gas firm Sapura Energy Bhd. Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the recovery, approved by the deputy public prosecutor, will see funds forfeited and returned to the government.

He added legal action remains under consideration. The case stems from a 2018 fund injection by Permodalan Nasional Bhd. A related probe involving Sapura’s overseas assets is ongoing. Separately, nine individuals will face charges in the MEX II Highway project, including Syarikat Maju Holdings director Tan Sri Abu Sahid Mohamed and former director Datuk Yap Wee Leong.
