Recently, PKR’s Sim Tze Zin states that with the rise of insurance premiums and medical costs in the private sector are affecting the public medical sector as T20s are going to public hospitals. He adds that it is worrying and concerning that VIPs are also using public hospitals.
Netizens say T20s are also entitled to use public hospitals
Netizens went on saying that the T20s of the country are also entitled to use public healthcare as they’re tax paying citizens as well. Some even say that if the rich are beginning to opt for affordable healthcare, it would mean the service provided by these hospitals are good.
However, a number of netizens misconstrued the MP’s words as his concerns are different from what the people are saying. His main concern is the investment-linked insurance plans as it may not be sufficient to cover one’s medical treatment costs.
Additionally, with this happening, it could mean that even the wealthy are either getting their insurance claims rejected or their insurance isn’t able to cover their medical costs in private hospitals.
