A group of 163 Malaysians stranded in several West Asian countries has safely returned home following a special evacuation mission organised by the government. The group arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport aboard a specially chartered Malaysia Airlines flight from Jeddah.

The passengers included Malaysian Umrah pilgrims and citizens who had been stranded in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and Syria due to airspace closures and disrupted flights. The operation also brought home seven non-citizen family members, including nationals from Thailand, Indonesia and Morocco.

Officials said the evacuation effort was coordinated by the Foreign Ministry together with Malaysian diplomatic missions and other agencies to ensure the safe return of affected citizens.
