Burning Gas Under Water In Mexico

Kuala Lumpur: A video showing burning gas underwater in the Gulf of Mexico is still spreading over the internet today.

The video shows an undersea gas pipeline sending flames boiling to the surface of the Gulf waters, reports ABC7news.

Mexico’s state-owned oil company on Friday says it suffered a rupture in the undersea gas pipeline.

Petroleos Mexicanos says it had dispatched fire control boats to pump more water over the flames. Saying the fire is under control, but the video had a long weekend of viral shares that awed netizens.

The company, Pemex says nobody was injured in the incident in the offshore Ku-Maloob-Zaap field.

The leak near dawn Friday is about 150 yards from a drilling platform.

In 2010, there was another raging inferno in the Gulf of Mexico. Crews were prepared to burn thousands of gallons of an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. See the video below:
