New Rules For Those Fully Vaccinated After Hari Raya

Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia ease restrictions for those who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 after the Hari Raya Haji celebrations.

This means 4.5 million people, or about 20 per cent of the country’s adult population, may do things differently.

They may be allowed to travel beyond the current 10km-radius limit or dine in at restaurants. But authorities are cautious, saying these plans are still under consideration.

After biting the bullet during the Eid-el Fitr celebrations which is the cause of many clusters, no one wants a repeat of the mistakes.

Dine-in at restaurants, travel beyond the 10km radius are all banned under the full movement control order.

“We will give leeway. The technical committee is studying the proposal thoroughly on individuals as well as the business sectors allowed to be involved in the relaxation of restrictions,” Deputy Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob says.

The government have also enforced a stricter ban on interstate travel lately ahead of the Raya holiday. Malaysia celebrates the Eid el Adha or Raya Haji in Malay today.

Activities in mosques are limited to 50 people. Only those who are fully vaccinated are allowed in some cases.
