Syed Saddiq On Bail For CBT, misusing funds for GE14

Kuala Lumpur: Former Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman is offered bail of RM330,000 with one surety for both charges. He is ordered to surrender his passport to the court and report to the nearest MACC office once a month.

Syed Saddiq was required to pay RM80,000 today and the remaining RM250,000 by Tuesday.

Muar Member of Parliament Syed Saddiq was charged in the Sessions Court here today with CBT.

The funds belong to a political party amounting to RM1 million. He is also charged for misusing RM120,000 in donations for the 1GE14.

The former Youth and Sports Minister pleaded not guilty to the charges.

He was charged in his capacity as then Armada youth wing leader of Bersatu.

He is accused of withdrawing RM1 million from the fund via a CIMB Bank Bhd cheque without the permission of Bersatu’s Supreme Council.
