Kuala Lumpur; The Australian PM Scott Morrison says sorry the government didn’t achieve the marks hoped for in vaccine delivery. But he says it is now focused on ‘turning this around’.
He says apologised after he repeatedly declined to say sorry for the government’s missteps during an interview.
“I’m certainly sorry we haven’t been able to achieve the marks that we hoped for at the beginning of this year,” the PM says.
He says the country will be able to administer AstraZeneca vaccinations from August.
Amid public backlash, Morrison says the latest outbreak required a new risk assessment to ensure more people got vaccinated.
Millions of Australians are on lockdown as the country remains cut off from the rest of the world.
