Kuala Lumpur: Barisan Nasional is unsure if it’s supporting PM TS Muhyiddin Yassin or not.
Yesterday, a dispute has erupted over claims by Deputy PM Ismail Sabri Yaakob saying 50 BN MPs back the PM.
But later, the BN executive secretary Mohamad Sahfri Ab Aziz issued a statement on the BN’s Facebook page denying Sabri’s statement.
Sabri’s statement says he had chaired a meeting involving 40 MPs from the coalition. It says they unanimously support “the government under Mahiaddin Md Yasin’s leadership”.
BN has a total of 42 MPs and several among them already voiced their disagreement over Muhyiddin’s leadership. Among them are Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Umno leader DS Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and former PM DS Najib Razak.
