Kuala Lumpur: The city of Nanjing in China is now under lockdown after it saw the worst COVID-19 outbreak.
More than 170 people have been diagnosed with the Delta variant in the past 10 days.
Authorities say there are connected cases identified in Beijing and other provinces including Anhui, Liaoning, Sichuan and Guangdong.
Flights have reportedly been cancelled and checkpoints set up to verify travellers’ health status amid the Delta outbreak.
The Nanjing cluster is at least the third outbreak of the highly infectious Delta variant in China.
There was one near the Myanmar border in Yunnan earlier this month. Another outbreak was registered in southern Guangdong in May-June. Read More.
