Kuala Lumpur: Pakatan Harapan’s President Council condemned the Prime Minister’s response to the King on the end of the Emergency Ordinances, saying it was arrogant and misplaced.
“The counter-statement of the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday was arrogant and rude against the Head of State, in violation of the Federal Constitution and the system of parliamentary democracy.
“It is important to note that a Government that has lost good relations with the monarch and is no longer loyal to His Majesty is unlikely to survive. PH says the entire cabinet of the PN government has lost their legitimacy and lost the support of most MPs.
“The Prime Minister and Ministers failed to uphold His Majesty’s order for the Emergency Ordinances to be debated in Parliament. The Law Minister altogether issued inaccurate and misleading statements to Members of the House of Representatives.
“The Attorney General has also failed to carry out his official duty to provide legal advice to His Majesty in a neutral and independent manner without favouring Prime Minister Tan Sri Mahiaddin Md Yassin.”
