Kuala Lumpur: In a letter dated Aug 3, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin indicates he wants a debate on the Emergency Ordinances in September.

He also says the repeal of the ordinances by the King does not arise anymore since the emergency expired on Aug 1.

“A motion to discuss the emergency ordinances may be brought in a parliamentary session which is scheduled to take place in September 2021.

“The motion will be discussed in the Cabinet meeting (today) and is expected to resolve the controversy regarding the repeal of the ordinance.”
