Facebook removes Russian anti-vax influencer campaign

1 min read

Kuala Lumpur: Facebook is removing hundreds of accounts involved in anti-vax disinformation campaigns. They are mostly operating from Russia. Does this show who is behind the global anti-vax propaganda?

The accounts targeted India, Latin America and the US.

Facebook says the accounts are promoting false claims about vaccines, particularly about COVID-19 vax.

Facebook is also saying it found links between the network and a botched disinformation campaign from influencer marketing agency Fazze.

Fazze is part of a Russian-based company called AdNow.
