Kuala Lumpur: The Taliban is fast advancing on provincial capital cities in Afghanistan while the Afghan army built by the US is simply collapsing.
Kabul’s Green Zone, which houses embassies, will see an additional 3,000 U.S. troops coming soon. They are heading to Afghanistan to assist with evacuation efforts of Embassy staffers, according to the Pentagon.
The Taliban, defeated in 2001 in a US-Nato invasion of the country, just took control of Ghazni, the capital of Ghazni province and it is the 10th provincial capital to fall in a week. It is also only 90 miles away from Kabul, sending the ruling government in panic.
