Kuala Lumpur: A new government with Ismail Sabri Yaakob will have a slim majority because no opposition members will back his leadership unless it is a unity government. Some analysts are calling a Sabri government ‘old wine in a new bottle.’
Analysts and political figures seem to agree that Sabri’s government, if he is nominated PM, will not be different in size (number of MPs than the Muhyiddin Yassin government).
On the other hand, Umno Youth is asking Sabri not to maintain the same cabinet that was in place under Muhyiddin. They want a complete change of guards, according to some news reports.
