Kuala Lumpur: The winners of a 20-year old war in Afghanistan, the Taliban, has urged the US to withdraw all its troops from the country by Sept 11.
Sept. 11 is the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the WTC Twin Towers in New York which led to the war against the Taliban in 2001.
Two days ago, US troops were re-deployed to the Kabul airport to oversee an evacuation. Taliban told Sky News on Tuesday that “we are committed not to attack them,” but he stressed they have to leave by that date. It’s not clear what will happen if American forces remain in Afghanistan after Sept. 11.
