Malaysia’s Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the new cabinet for his government today but most are saying it is like old wine in new bottle.
No surprises and no new deputy PM as all rumours of Azmin Ali pushing for the DPM post is squashed though the latter maintains his old posts of Menteri Kanan and MITI minister.
Some opposition politicians are lamenting the new cabinet is #kerajaangagal2.0 but it is now in the hands of Ismail Sabri who gave his ministers 100 days to prove themselves, perhaps taking a leaf from ex-PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s 100 days and quarterly KPI showcase during the brief PH reign.
Nevertheless, social media is rife with disappointment at the announcement of the not so exciting cabinet lineup.
