Stop the discrimination against women and allow their babies born overseas to get Malaysian citizenship urges former law minister Azalina Othman.
She says it is unfair that only Malaysian fathers can get citizenship for their children who are born overseas.
“It’s like saying women have no brains when they decide to marry a foreigner and have children. Come on, it’s 2021,” she says.
Malaysia has to change its approach that allegedly discriminates against babies born of Malaysian women abroad, whether they are married to foreigners or not.
