Twelve U.S. troops were killed in the bombings in Kabul, Afghanistan, on Thursday says the Pentagon and in addition, 15 were wounded in an attack claimed by ISIS.
CENTCOM Commander General Kenneth McKenzie spoke to reporters in a briefing conducted hours after the attack but news reports say it wasn’t clear what branches the troops who were injured or killed came from.
ISIS is bragging about a suicide bomber “managing to penetrate all the security fortifications” put into place by U.S. forces and the Taliban to carry out the attack.
