US left Afghanistan in a state of civil war

1 min read

The U.S. ended the war in Afghanistan last week, leaving the Taliban in control of the country with a plan to keep the country in a permanent state of civil war.

Gen. Mark Milley , chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, believes there’s a good chance of an Afghan civil war in the near future adding, “My military estimate is… that the conditions are likely to develop of a civil war.”

However, he says from this ‘civil war’ that Al Qaeda and ISIS may emerge as the victors and that the Taliban may not, in the end, establish its rule.

Meanwhile, in the hotly contested Panjir Valley, Ahmad Massoud, head of NRF, says he welcomes proposals for a negotiated settlement to end fighting, says Aljazeera.
