Giving ministerial posts to any individual who is not in government is a form of bribery and this is the view expressed by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in the Dewan Rakyat today.
The former two-time prime minister claimed the Federal Constitution is silent on this and there are no determining criteria on how ministerial status is given to any post.
But what is certain, he says, is the person who gets the title will get all the benefits a Minister will get, hinting how several appointments have been made recently to fill up certain positions.
