The popular Chef Ammar who owns a restaurant in Subang serving his legendary Nasi Arab using high end ingredients for his dishes. Of course, when a chef uses saffron you would know that it is going to be expensive.
Unfortunately a netizen complained about his pricing claiming it to be ‘Harga Tel Aviv’ which translates to ‘Tel Aviv Pricing’ an inside joke/connotation used by the Malay people to imply that a business is ripping off. To top it all off, Chef Ammar is a Palestinian, and for obvious reasons a statetment like that would be highly offensive to him.

There were multiple threads on twitter where users were defending the chef and a user even had an open letter to him. The user advised the chef on not using race and prejudice against the whole Malay race group for that comment, however there were users that understood his feelings as well. What do you think about this situation? Is the chef wrong for defending his business or was the netizen wrong for making fun of his pricing?
