In 2020, Paris Hilton opened up on social media with regards to the abuse she endured during her teenage years when she was enrolled in Provo Canyon. She has since been an avid activist, fighting against child abuse.
Social media users came quickly to her support due to someone as influential and powerful as her who can do something to stop institutional abuse. Many former students of the Provo Canyon school also came out as abuse survivors right after Paris made her statements.
This year, she further added that she was sexually abused in the school by the teachers. They were checking her private parts without her consent and if she disobeyed she risked isolation for weeks on end.
