It was announced via Bitcoin Magazine that a Mexican senator, Indira Kempis, is in talks with the Bank of Mexico to make Bitcoin a legal tender. This may sound like a small step, but it is the contrary as now even politicians are fighting to make bitcoin a legal currency.

Some claim that politicians are pushing for Bitcoin in order to gain votes or for themselves. Others mentioned that this senator is a warrior, and has been fighting to make sure Bitcoin is officially recognized by the Mexican central bank.

Another concern is shared stating that about 60% of Mexico still uses cash based transactions, and it would be hard to adopt Bitcoin payment methods. Crypto Hodlers claim that this is ‘bullish’ news, as it might spark another bull run. However, we’d have to wait and see what’s the outcome of this.
