The topic was brought up on Twitter where a netizen was asking others if the fact that Malaysia’s average monthly income is RM6,590. However, it is not updated as another netizen mentioned that the average salary has dropped recently.
The true average salary now would be in the range of RM4,000. However, those living in the Klang Valley would know that it is not enough to cover our daily expenses. It is shown that 56.8% of Malaysians are making between RM1,200 – RM2,000 in 2021.
Many mentioned that the average salary is just false advertising as T20s who make RM20k or more monthly will increase the average. Others mentioned that we should remove the high ranking government officials salaries in the average, maybe then we can see the correct figure.
