From Aug 15 to 26, the Federal Court in Malaysia will hear the views of lawyers from both sides in the SRC International case involving ex-PM Najib Razak who risk becoming the first former PM in the country’s history to go to jail.
Leading criminal lawyer Hisyam Teh Pok Teik will represent the ex-premier in the hearing that will be centred on Najib’s appeal against a 12-year sentence.
It will be closely watched as it is Najib’s last chance to escape becoming the country’s PM to be imprisoned. This is one of the cases linking him with the 1MDB financial scandal.
