Our country is known for overworking, in fact a recent study shows that Kuala Lumpur is the world’s 3rd most stressful city when it comes to work. Ranking higher than even Singapore, yet our pay and quality of life is not as good as Singapore.

Our current working hours requirement dropped from 48 hours to 45 hours, and it will commence on the 1st of September. Netizens were quick to do the maths and mentioned this is for people who work on Saturdays.

If you have a Monday-Friday job, it means that nothing has changed as 8 hours for 5 days a week equates to 40 hours worth of work. As it is, numerous people are working overtime and are not getting any extra overtime money. This is just a ‘plaster’ to a giant hole in the wall.
