Prices of Car Parts Have Risen By 25% and 60%

Reports are flying that there is an increase in the price of car parts and that it is between 25% and 60%. Most of the parts affected are engine oil and tyres, say some associations while others say the rise for engine oil is between 10-15%.

The point is there is a hike in prices noted on the market and it is the Russian war on Ukraine as well as China’s zero-COVID-19 policy that are mainly to blame because they cause disruptions in the global supply chains.

This is what Automotive Accessories Traders Association of Malaysia president Lim Bee Choo said while Malaysia Automotive Prosper Entrepreneurs Association president Mohd Karim A. Rahman said the hike could be 60% for spare parts.
