Umno chief Ahmad Zahid Hamidi could make a strong comeback on the political scene and within the Umno after his massive, though surprising, court case win last week in which he was cleared squeaky clean of all charges in the 40 bribery charges linked to a visa scheme.
While netizens are asking how is it possible that not a single of the 40 charges stood in court to get Zahid to present his defence, the latter will surely take initiatives to regain full control of the Umno, a divided party that is veering left and right at the same time.
Zahid is still facing another corruption trial that is set to conclude in a couple of months but his win last week will embolden his group to put more pressure on PM Ismail Sabri Yaakob to dissolve Parliament, which is Zahid’s main campaign battle.
