No Place For Women In Afghan Amusement Parks

1 min read

There is no place for women who are now barred from entering Kabul amusement parks on Wednesday after the Taliban’s morality ministry announced restrictions on women’s access to public parks.

When contacted by Reuters, a spokesperson for the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (MPVPV) confirmed that women would be barred from entering parks and that is all the media knows.

It was unclear how far the restrictions applied or how they affected previous rules requiring parks, including open-air spaces, to be gender segregated and set aside for women on certain days, says the news site.
