Anwar Ibrahim says he needs more time to appoint a cabinet of ministers and we bet it will not be like the ‘Ikea’ cabinet of TS Muhyiddin Yassin and Ismail Sabri Yaakob because Anwar adds he is not willing to have a bloated cabinet.
“It is unlike before, as this unity government involves many parties. Before making any decision, I have to listen to all views. The problem now is that the Cabinet will be downsized,” he says.
No To Bloated Cabinet
“Previously, you could just slot in 50, 60, 70 members and if that is not enough, there will be appointments of special envoys and advisors. I am not willing to do that,” he adds.
He also says he will go ahead with the confidence motion in Parliament next month because it is about the legitimacy of his government.
