The Ministry or a minister in the Prime Minister’s office could be assigned to this very important mission that could help in assisting the people financially or economically. The main mission will be to eradicate poverty.
While people are speculating about who will hold which portfolio in PM Anwar Ibrahim’s minimal cabinet, analysts say Malaysia need a few new Ministries and one of them should be the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction.
This should follow the steps of Canada, where such a ministry exists (see the link) and its mission should be to reduce the income gap between the various socio-economic groupings in Malaysia, such as the B40 and M40 or not it is even more appropriate to call it the B50.
