We live in a democratic society and one of the terms we have to deal with is the freedom of expression from others. However, where do we draw the line on slandering someone else? Apparently, this netizen thinks that what Anwar Ibrahim is doing is against free speech.
Anwar Ibrahim taking legal action
This Twitter account posted a tweet this morning, and has gotten immense heat from his opinion. He stated that Anwar Ibrahim preached freedom of speech, yet is taking Sanusi to court. However, the first response by another netizen was that Sanusi actually reported someone to the police for what they said, rather than going through a fair legal process. The irony.
Furthermore, backlash against Naratif Rakyat was quite prominent. Netizens state that free speech and fitnah are two very different things. Others stated that anyone is free to state whatever they like, but will have to bear the consequences of their actions.
