“InshaAllah starting February 2023, telcos will provide a new prepaid plan where we pay RM30 for 6 months which is RM5 per month with a 30GB quota and 3Mbps speed,” says Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

“Now more people including B40, OKU, veterans, and (age group) 12 – 30 years can use,” he says in a post on Facebook.

Cheaper Internet offered by Unity Govt

CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, Telekom Malaysia (TM) and YTL Communications will provide the package.

The groups being targeted are youths aged up to 30, those in the bottom 40% of household income group, persons with disabilities, senior citizens and veterans of uniformed bodies.

“The prepaid package will be offered at the price of RM30 with 30 gigabytes of data for six months, with a speed of 3Mbps (megabits per second).

“Users will enjoy 50% savings compared to the existing package, which is from RM10 to RM5 per month,” he says.
