The ever-so controversial politician, Hadi Awang has gotten himself in hot waters again after making a remark that may offend the minorities in this country. He stated that it is “haram” to unite without God’s guidance. He then claims that the unity government is running on limited time.

Netizens are quite cruel to the politician calling him inappropriate names on Twitter. Other netizens that are more sensible stated that the beauty of Islam is not limited to him, but it belongs to all of Allah’s creation. The netizen then said that he should stop labelling everything as haram.
Another netizen then replied saying that skipping parliament is also haram, getting paid while not performing at your job is haram and that spreading fake news is haram too. There are discussions among netizens that Hadi Awang is going against the Yang Di Pertuan Agong’s decision of a unity government.
Others are asking questions on whether a “backdoor” government is haram or not, as the leaders were not voted into power when it happened. There were those that were concerned about his public statements as they claimed that Islam isn’t what he preaches.
