Public Works Minister, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi says the reduction of toll rates on the Sungai Besi Expressway (BESRAYA) and the Kajang-Seremban Expressway (LEKAS) will be effective at 12.01 midnight tonight.
He said the reduction in the toll rates from 15 sen to 50 sen was made after discussion and agreement between the two highway concessionaires, IJM Corporation and is in line with the decision of the Council of Ministers on 21 December.
Lower Toll Rates
“The toll rate reduction is as much as RM0.15 for class 1 vehicles that pass through the Loke Yew and Mines toll plazas (North and South) on the Besraya Expressway. While the LEKAS Expressway toll rate for class 1 vehicles is reduced from 0.1811 sen/km to 0.1666 sen/km for the closed toll system and the toll rate remains as it is for the open toll system at the Ampangan Toll Plaza.
“The toll rate currently collected is as much as RM2.00 one way for class 1 vehicles that pass through any BESRAYA Expressway toll plaza, and RM8.30 each way for class 1 vehicles that use the entire LEKAS Expressway.
“Through the reduction in toll rates from 1 January 2023, class 1 vehicles passing through any BESRAYA Expressway toll plaza will pay RM1.85 one way; while users using the entire LEKAS Expressway will pay RM7.80 each way,” he says in a statement today.
