The unity government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is struggling to gain the support and confidence of the Malay community in Peninsular Malaysia, according to a survey conducted by five mainstream media outlets and O2 Malaysia. The survey of 35,077 respondents of all ethnicities found that non-Malay communities were generally satisfied with the government, but a majority of Malay respondents were not.
15% Satisfied?
Only 15% of Malay respondents were satisfied with the government’s efforts to fulfil the 15th General Election manifesto, compared to 71% who were not. The survey is not good news for the PH and BN alliance ahead of the state elections this year. But Malay support will come if the PH and Anwar strives on their path.
