Roger Ng, a former banker for Goldman Sachs Group Inc. who was the only bank employee to be charged and found guilty in connection with the massive 1MDB scandal, should receive a sentence of at least 15 years in prison, according to US prosecutors.
Prosecutors in Brooklyn, New York, recommended a lengthy sentence of imprisonment for Ng’s offences in a sentencing report submitted on Friday. In April, he was found guilty of planning to bribe foreign officials and use money laundering techniques to steal from the Malaysian sovereign wealth fund.
