Over 1,000 dead dogs have been found at a residence in Yangpyeong, South Korea, after a resident reported a lost dog to the police. The man, who is being investigated for violating animal protection laws, collected abandoned dogs and starved them to death.
The bodies of the animals were discovered in cages, sacks, and rubber containers. Four live dogs have been rescued and are receiving treatment for malnutrition and skin diseases, with two in critical condition.
It is alleged that the man was paid by dog breeders to dispose of dogs that could no longer breed or had diminished commercial value. Animal rights activists have accused him of starving the dogs to death since 2020.
