Muhyiddin, the president of Bersatu, has been summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over projects awarded under Jana Wibawa, a Covid-19 stimulus programme introduced in November 2020 when he was the prime minister. The news is Muhyiddin arrested today by MACC!
The programme aimed to help Bumiputera contractors, and two Bersatu leaders have already been charged with soliciting and accepting bribes over Jana Wibawa projects.
Muhyiddin Arrested
The treasurer-general of Bersatu, Salleh Bajuri, was also arrested and released earlier this month in connection with investigations into the Jana Wibawa programme and the Akar Umbi Pemacu Negara (AkuPN) online application.
