The Domestic Violence Act protects spouses, former spouses, children, family members, incapacitated adults, and de facto spouses.
However, the act does not cover non-married couples. It is important for both men and women to understand that domestic violence is a serious offense and can result in legal consequences. It is crucial to seek help and support if you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, regardless of gender.
