A Malaysian woman who had just landed in Chennai, India from Malaysia via Indigo Flight was arrested by customs officials for trying to smuggle 740 grams of gold hidden on her body.

Through inspection when officers found that she smuggled 24 carat gold of various types and the woman caught, was arrested under the Customs Act 1962.
A media statement issued by the Customs Commissioner of the Chennai International Airport, K.P.Jeyakar says further investigations are underway. The gold is estimated at 3.62 million Indian Rupees (RM194,480).
