The cold hands of Touch ‘n Go (TnG) holding the monopoly over the payment methods on the Malaysian public transportation system seems to be coming to an end. Anthony Loke announced that the public transportation companies are to accept other forms of payment methods.

Netizens are happy to hear this as TnG is constantly recognised as an inconvenient mode of payment in this day and age. Some are concerned about the government subsidies that they are currently having, as it is counted as a TnG payment method. However, this will be unaffected as these other payment options are just an addition.
Others are proudly stating that the government should end the current payment monopoly. If TnG did not implement their NFC cards as slow and late as they did, they would probably have continued along with their monopoly.
