KTMB has explained that a power outage caused the disruption of its services along the Klang Valley line and the Electric Train Service (ETS) on Wednesday, March 22. The 5.50 pm disturbance occurred due to an electric power outage in areas within Kuala Lumpur, Batu Caves, and Ipoh, which were hit by heavy rainstorms.

The services that are disrupted

KTMB said that the power outage affected the train services from Slim River to Sungai Buloh stations, Kepong to Rawang stations, and Rasa to Slim River stations, causing a 120-minute delay in its train services. Additionally, the rainstorms caused technical disruptions for some ETS trains, and passengers were asked to leave at the nearest station.

Netizens are angry at KTMB’s service disruption

Criticisms towards the transport company and Anthony Loke should do better. This netizen states that he has been sitting in the train until further notice due to Batu Caves not having any electricity. Another netizen states that they too were stuck in an ETS service from Ipoh.

He claims that the train is supposed to arrive Sg Buloh 16 minutes ago, but states that it is well above the arrival time due the power shortage. Others are saying that we should give time to Anthony Loke in order to settle in his new position. He has already done the best he can for most of the public transportation infrastructure in this country.
