Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar recently stated that the state government’s relationship with the federal government has significantly improved under Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Sultan Ibrahim mentioned that he has been working well with the Pakatan Harapan chairman, who leads the unity government, even better than with previous prime ministers. He expressed satisfaction with the federal government’s consideration of his proposals for Johor’s development.

This collaboration contrasts with the treatment Johor received under former prime ministers, when Sultan Ibrahim felt the state was treated like a “stepchild” despite being a top economic contributor.
